This a book about the simple joys in life. For you and me, one of those joys is owning a Land Rover. But that's not all there is. We want to make a book about you (as well as some others). You can put whatever you want in there. It's yours just as much as it's mine.

I'm not an author, a writer or a linguist by any means. So there will be a lot of pictures, this will predominately be a photography book. And the writing- I'll leave up to you. I want this book to be about people, that happen to own Land Rovers, not about the cars themselves. Because what I've discovered is that Landy owners are a special bunch- it's a bit of a cult following, in a good way. After owning mine, I quickly became witness to just how friendly the community is. The simple act of a subtle wave as you drive past another Landy owner is such a simple but friendly and meaningful gesture. As well as the random chats I'd find myself having in parking lots with other Landy owners. Always a simple but enjoyable interaction. These are my people and they're good ones at that.

When I first got my car, there was a hand written note from the previous owner outlining how he was excited to be passing the car on. He listed all the things he had worked on and the quirks the car had. It was like I was adopting his son. Let's be real here, it's an inanimate object, but for some reasons it becomes more than that and these cars become a passionate part of our lives. They are not our lives entirely, but they certainly become part of it. I've got a handful of people I'd like to feature in the book down on a shortlist, but a large portion of people will be those I stumble across out on the road. For the last few years I've been taking simple photos on my phone of every Landy I come across. I will continue to do that but from now on I'll also include an invitation to be part of this project.

The format of the book will be simple. Each person will have their own section. The first part of each section will be a short introduction describing how I stumbled across you and what it was about you that intrigued me. The next bits are totally up to you. You can write about your life, family, passions, work, cars whatever you want, I really don't mind. For each person we'll spend 1-2 days with you shooting photos to document who you are as well getting some snaps of your car.
